INI-CET 2026– Institute of National Importance Combined Entrance Test

The Institute of National Importance Combined Entrance Test (INI-CET) is a national-level postgraduate medical entrance examination conducted by AIIMS New Delhi for admission to PG medical and dental programmes offered by participating Institutes of National Importance (INIs). The January 2027 session registration has started, and the entrance examination is scheduled for 1 November 2026.

The examination is relevant for candidates seeking admission to programmes such as MD, MS, MDS, DM (6 years) and M.Ch. (6 years) at participating institutes including AIIMS institutes, JIPMER, PGIMER, NIMHANS and SCTIMST, subject to the applicable programme and institute rules.

INI-CET 2027 – January Session

INI-CET is conducted twice a year for admission to postgraduate programmes at participating Institutes of National Importance. The January 2027 admission cycle has its entrance examination in November 2026, while the academic session is named the January 2027 session.

The examination is conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode. For the January 2027 session, AIIMS Examination Section opened online registration on 16 September 2026.
